Your Career Down Under is a career coaching service for migrants – created by migrants for new and established migrants. As pioneers, with our disruptive training and coaching programmes, we build careers and help migrants find work in Australia.

We have observed that professional, skilled migrants don’t get ample support from local stakeholders. As a result, looking for jobs in Melbourne becomes challenging.

MY EXPERIENCES

Our story

The idea for Your Career Down Under dates back to 2007 when Naishadh Gadani landed in Australia hoping to make it big here. A well-qualified mechanical engineer with extensive experience in Sales and Marketing. Although new to the Australian job landscape, his experience helped him find a job in Melbourne as a sales engineer. But within 12 months, he experienced his first redundancy. He found a similar position in a different company, however, after six months his position became redundant again.

Naishadh never anticipated such a high magnitude of challenges. Language, customs, culture and business practises were completely different from what he was familiar with. He had to build his own network, develop his personal brand and market himself from scratch. He realised it was difficult for him, as a migrant, to find satisfying work in Australia.

This gloomy job experience inspired him to embark on a soul searching expedition. He had many questions, What I really want to achieve in my career? Why is it difficult to find a job in Australia for migrants? How to navigate this Australian job landscape? Many such questions rumbled through his head. That’s when he knew what he wanted to do. Naishadh Gadani wanted to inspire and touch people’s lives! And that is the path he took.

Since 2009, Naishadh has worked tirelessly as a Career Coach, helping migrants navigate through the multiple and complex challenges of looking for jobs in Australia. He also has immense experience in career transition and helps migrants transition their current jobs to something more meaningful.
